  • Batik Wong Agung has more than 100 (one hundred) collection of paintings, and currently they are trying to market their artworks to the outside world.The following are some goals and strategies to promote Batik Wong Agung (BWA).

using social media platforms to promote BWA and engage with customers.

 

Event marketing:

hosting or sponsoring events to promote BWA and build relationships.

 

Referral marketing:

encouraging existing customers to refer new customers

Product

Relates to the characteristics of BWA, mention as "karya seni" (artwork) rather than only as "batik" or "fabric";

The product is a Visual presentation of contemporary-style batik inspired by the natural and cultural heritage of the archipelago, as well as various social dynamics currently taking place in society."

 

Price

Relates to the price set for BWA including pricing strategies. BWA is a product in the form of artwork (karya seni), so determining its price is not the same as determining the price of a regular product."

 

Promotion

Relates to ways to promote BWA : online as well as offline.

 

Place

Relates to ways of showcasing BWA to the customers. The galary or studio and also social media.

 

People

In producing each of his paintings, Agung Suhartanto, the painter, does not work alone. He is assisted by several trained employees.

BWA specializes itself as an artwork (karya seni) rather than a piece of clothing.

 

The meaning of "Batik Wong Agung" (BWA) "

 

"Batik"

Batik is an Indonesian art form that involves wax-resistant dyeing on fabrics. It is a traditional craft with a rich history that has been passed down through generations.

 

"Wong"

is a Javanese word that is commonly used in Indonesian language. It means "person" or "people" in English.

 

"Agung"

Agung" is an Indonesian adjective that can be translated to "great" or "grand" in English. Coincidentally, the name of the batik artist is "Agung Suhartanto".

BWA is not just a collection of paintings

Waktu Lampau (Past Time)

In the past, there was a kingdom that stood in Lombok. However, as happened in other areas, the kingdom disappeared and was replaced by a new civilization. Sometimes the past civilization leaves a historical trace and sometimes without a trace. The work titled "Waktu Lampau" is a depiction of the spirit of society that cannot be separated from the noble foundation of its ancestors, even though it has undergone its new culture.

BWA is not just a painting made of batik, because every piece of artwork produced carries various messages that aim to convey local wisdom from every corner of Indonesia|nusantara.

"Nusantara" is an Indonesian term that refers to the archipelago of Indonesia, which consists of thousands of islands between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

The term originally comes from Old Javanese and means "outer islands" or "other islands". It is commonly used to refer to the cultural and geographic diversity of Indonesia, which includes a wide range of ethnic groups, languages, and traditions.

In some of its paintings, BWA conveys messages about life and spirituality.

They potray/depict our connection with a higher power, nature, the universe, or one's own inner self.

 

It is not easy to determine the price of each paintings.

The paintings produced by BWA are a conveyance of messages about local wisdom, life, and spirituality.

That is why the pricing of BWA products is different from other paintings, because the painting we see in their artwork carries messages that aim to convey various local wisdoms in Indonesia|Nusantara, as well as messages about life and the relationship between humans and their God.

 

Numpang di Lahan Sendiri (Squatting on One's Own Land)

Babirusa and primates are rare animals. Their habitats are decreasing due to human activity. However, now they live in the bushes as their right to life. Babirusa and primates live in the bushes and among the grasses. Nevertheless, we still often encounter wildlife habitats in nature that have an unlucky fate. They are uprooted from their natural habitat. It is humans who are demanded accountability and wisdom in managing nature, so that animals are not isolated in this one world.
